Buying barefoot shoes: what are the most common mistakes?

At SHUZ | for barefoot lovers we offer a consultancy service that allows us to observe, evaluate and measure feet so that you can find the perfect shoe for your foot.

We know that measuring children's feet is very difficult and that this can often lead to wrong measurements.

Spanish podiatrist Neus Moya says that the most frequent mistakes we make when trying to measure our feet to buy barefoot shoes are:

1. Measure the foot in inappropriate positions (sitting, lying down, one foot in front of the other, etc...)

2. Ask the finger to be lifted so we can know where it touches (the big toe is not always the longest finger and the tip, being reinforced or hard, does not allow us to know where the finger is).

3. Take the measurement using the first finger (the big toe is not always the longest finger).

4. Place a finger on the back of the shoe (by placing the finger at the back, between the shoe and the heel, we are making the foot project forward and the toes can bend, giving a false measurement).

5. Pencil inclination (if measuring using the contour of the foot on the paper, remember that the pencil must have an inclination of 90º)

6. Do not measure both feet (feet do not always have the same measurement, so it is important to measure both)
